hackers are good.. cyber criminals are bad.
Without hackers, cyber criminals would make our lives even more fucked up...

One of my college professors was an old dude that was an old school hacker that was pissed the term got distorted to what most people think of today.

Think about it, the only difference between a locksmith and a burglar is a paycheck. Apply the same logic to every other profession you can think of.
In the English language most words have multiple meanings, it's time people got used to that. Hacker means a number of things. A person who hacks down a tree with an axe is a hacker.
