I don't think this will make a tidbit of difference in Valve's market share being that most people who are enthusiastic gamers already own a Windows based PC (maybe in addition to their Apple) or are emulating Windows on their Apple and playing that way. Either way, they already own the games.
Is Valve trying to attract the maybe 2% or less of the 100% Apple owners (those that don't use windows machines AT ALL and are interested in gaming)? This seems illogical and all the effort involved in cross platforming the game engine not worth the effort. OpenGL is also a very inferior product compared to DirectX and will definitely affect the visuals in more advanced titles. Currently, Source doesn't use anything remotely advanced in their engine, most of their technology is still barely utilizing DirectX 9 which is 3 generations behind (Last major update was in April 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX#Releases)).
Last time I heard Apple owned roughly 8% of the computer market share which is a significant sum, but there are little stats about the number of Apple purists.

First thought when I saw this was if this would apply to GES, since the official source games are being ported over.
I'd be truly excited if steam/source came to Linux, this is a positive sign but I'm not holding my breath.

Isn't there an option for you mouse to recognize right clicks? The mouse pad may look like there's only one button, I'm pretty sure it registers right clicks. Correct me if I'm wrong. /offnote
Glad to hear that Mac users don't have to use Boot Camp or CrossOver or any programs anymore to play Steam games.

All touch pads have right click via two finger press (or two fingers on the touch pad and button press on the old ones) and all mac mice support it.

I just hope valve won't break to many things while making source compatible with OpenGL and Mac OS.

The mouse that apple recently replaced with a touch sensitive surface had like 4 different buttons.

Lol you n00bs, it was a joke on Apple because they had a one button mouse for the longest time so their granny users wouldn't be so intimidated by the mean nasty computer.
You may have missed it, but I despise everything made by Steve Jobs & co. Simply because they have every intention of hiding / disabling functionality from their users "to protect them"

Orange Box did the same by removing cvars that are necessary for proper configuration of engine parameters.

But monkey they dont. They show the most needed settings in most simple form and you can have access to the advanced things via console and config files. Much easier to config things than the 10 million windows settings.
