Maybe I'm just slow. who knows..
I've downloaded the beta 4, and saved it. Yes it's the right file size, I checked.
It doesn't show up in my steam games, and whenever I go through the shortcut on my desktop it takes me to my computer menu.
I can't find the application anywhere in my steam folder either. I've installed at least 5 times. What is going on?
-
Restart Steam.
-
I have, but I'll try it again
-
Nope, still doesn't show up. And the shortcut still brings me to the same spot
-
Look in your Steam/steamapps/sourcemods folder.. there should be a folder called gesource
-
Nope, nothing. Looked in all the folders it could/would be in

I mean I am not trying to be mean but did you even install the game? You don't just download the installer to your computer. You have to actually OPEN it and INSTALL the game...
-
"downloads game and saves it on the hard drive and goes to steam folder and cant seem to find Goldeneye Source game."
I just find that dead halrious. Sorry if I offended you. You made me cheer up today.
After you downloaded the Beta 4.exe file, you need to double click and install the game.
Then you can double click the Goldeneye source.exe file to start the game.

Yes, I've installed it plenty
Still won't work

hmm does it show a error?
search for "gesource" (without the qoutes) in your computer. If it isnt anywhere, you need to reinstall again.
let me know.
-
I found it. It has all the info for the game..... but none of the applications to run it or anything.

after you installed GES did you do this?
"Within the Steam client go to the Tools tab and install Source SDK: Orange Box."
-
Yep, did that
-
the gesource folder HAS TO BE in [...]/Steam/Steamapps/sourcemods/gesource in order for steam to recognize it. There are no executables for the game, you have to run it through steam.
-
So if I move the folder over there would it work?
-
Move it over where it supposed to be put and try it out. Let us know if it worked.
