Title: I have CS: Source... Can I play GoldenEye: Source?
Post by: Meelosh on February 15, 2010, 05:24:19 pm
Man, I heard about this and decided I must have it! What a great idea!

With that being said, what "host" game do I need (if any) to play this? I have Counter-Strike Source, but don't have Half Life or any other version of the game. Will I be able to download and play?

Thanks!

Any source game will do.
You just need to have source SDK base 2007 installed to run Orangebox mods.

Does Counter-Strike Source come with a SDK base 2007?

Yes it does, look in your Tools tab in Steam and it should be there, (it's called Source SDK Base - Orange Box) you just have to install it and then you can install and play GE:S.

Bear in mind there's slightly higher system requirements than CS:S.

Id suggest lowering the video settings if you get under 30 frames in GE: S. If you can play TF2 comfortably, look forward to getting good performance in our mod.

And yes, CSS allows you to play any mod for any valve universe mod.

You can play source mods, source 2007 mods, goldsrc mods.

And no need to worry about losing any of the experience. Even on the lowest settings, it still looks and runs absolutely amazing
