Be nice on the guy. As far as I can tell the guy doesn't speak English well, and maybe the word "restart" is not the best word to use.
Just turn off and on Steam, or if anything shut down and turn on your computer. It should work then.

O.K I'm starting to get bored how do i do this without steam? and don't say nothing about steam or ill freak out in pain and die. And of course ill start to P.W.N u in G.E source wen i have start to play it. You're going to "freak out in pain and die" then (what a shame). You must have Steam and the Source SDK Base 2007 (comes with any Source-powered title) installed in order to play the mod. Nothing to get around it, so stop complaining and either play the mod or don't.

You can play goldeneye without Steam. just go to your local specialist game shop and buy a Nintendo 64 with the game.
There is a fairly large button on there with reset on it so you can reset it the user friendly way.
Not only do you get to play Goldeneye, you will instantly have all the features, including single player!
Isn't that just awesome?

@starwarrior: first of all, grow up till you're old enough to be allowed to play these kind of games. Once you are old enough and choose your words more apropriately: Since GES is a Source engine mod, you'll need Steam and at least one Source engine game to play it. If you can't get used to that fact, you'll never play this game.

You should learn to safe your money and ask money for you birthday onstead of presents. Buying a Source game can cost you as little as 10 dollars or euro's.
I was always the first of my class that had a tv, playstation and a stereo radio, but that was because I didn't spend it on candy and Pokémon trading cards and such.
