I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but the search function could find "distance fog" and "Cradle fog".
Having said that, I was thinking it might be cool to add it to Cradle. It should not impact visibility (you should still be able to see the other end of the map) but by adding it it should add the feeling of the original N64 version. Just for nostalgia's sake ;)

Maybe if there's a cradle_classic, that would be awesome.
More importantly, cradle needs a cuban jungle skybox :P

Last I checked, the sky is blue everywhere. Even in the Cuban jungle. And you were probably thinking about the Jungle map :D

lol, and you expect to take this task on? LOLOL You have enough maps currently to work on the way it is. I would be amazed if you could fit time into redoing cradle...unless you were going to use the previous cradle and just fix it up....
-
Yea, The fix up wont take long with the original cradle. Ill talk to you later on steam about the details.

Won't it be a bit overkill?
I can imagine a truckload of low-poly models around Cradle then...

Wasn't that causing a huge performance drop?
-
Dont worry, IF and or when the map gets a rev-amp, the process will be done correctly. Thus, no performance drops. If anything, the performance would be better.

Yes. Yes it would.
I would love to see the gunmetal-gray structure suspended in the blue void once more. (Without requiring 64-bit hardware (which I have).)
A more accurate, jungle-ie environmental update to the current map is obviously more than welcome as well.

explained plainly, the skybox can have lots of small poly trees and it gets scaled up so it will look right and cost hardly any polys on the screen.

Tree cluster models and displacement foliage ftw.
