Twitter failed as a start up something like 8 times under different names.  This version just happened to catch on to all the vain retards.

Twitter also cannot grow anymore because of what the system is based on and will see a dramatic decline in use next year.  That system is SMS and brings that 140char limit.

RSS would be a logical choice, but due to how often we release updates there is no point.

Basically what I am saying is that We are working and don't need to feel special by people seeing that I just added a brush to a map or went to the washroom.

unfortunately all twitter did was make famous people appear likeable and personally engaging to their fans by sharing their daily mini-blog, while also not too subtely plugging all their music/movies/books in super real time. Becase you see lady gaga say some random shit, it makes it feel to the masses like she gives a damn about her fans.

Theres nothing wrong with it for us making one when our update schedule is higher than now. However, I think steam user group is a much more tailored way to involve the community in our progress. Each time we have updates either PR or game content, we use the Goldeneye: Source steam group announcement system to inform all the people who have chosen to be counted a diehard fan of the project.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/goldeneye <-- our twitter, get on it babydolls :)
