does it use loadout files?
-
Yes. Custom loadouts are supported.
-
Do they still use the same syntax?
-
No, refer to gesource/scripts/loadouts/weapon_sets_custom.txt for info
-
Murk is talking about the little programm he wrote called goldout.
It's a GUI for writing loadout files, which is able to get read weapon and ammo entities out of the bsp and use them for creating a loadout.
Well, the whole weaponsystem in beta 3 works another (a better) way now, so the creating of map related loadoutfiles is no longer necessary and writing your own weaponset can't get any easier now.
Sorry Murk, but Goldout cannot be used anymore.
Maybe it could be turned into a soundscape editor with some changes, this would be also usefull for other mods, coz most (all?) of them are using Soundscapes.
-
You could turn it into something to allow people generate weapon_sets_custom.txt, seen some people lost with custom sets on the board.
-
c'mon, it's not really hard to make a custom weaponset.
i mean it's a very simple syntax and you just need to copy&past an existing one, rename it and change the weapons in the slots.
Maybe an article on the wiki would be more helpfull then any programm could be.
-
yea, im looking at the new loadout format. it really is simple. BUT! i think I'll write a new version just for fun....
-
on second thought. no i won't

Someone who's intelligent enought to set up a server, should be able to handle this, too.

yea and someone who's not able to run a server won't need a custom weaponscript.
