Title: this is neat
Post by: double0killa on March 18, 2009, 12:41:06 pm
hey i was just browsing around the net and saw this.

http://www.cstrike-planet.com/cfgmaker?cfg=srcds

its a server.cfg maker for counter-strike. if you click the above link, you enter what variables you want on your server.cfg file for CS and then click generate cfg and BAMM!! You have a server.cfg file ready to go.

it is possible to have one of these for GES.

Once you get good with server you can hand write those, and add your own funness.

Some stuff you better watch out on those, exp:

sv_minrate - Min bandwidth rate allowed on server. Default: 0 (unlimited)
sv_maxrate - Max bandwidth rate allowed on server. Default: 0 (unlimited)

personally I'd never set the sv_minrate to 0, or really less then 8000. And max, I usually keep mine around 30000, as VAVLe seems to like to limit that to the max anyway.

Don't think it would be useful as most of the GE commands (http://wiki.goldeneyesource.net/index.php/Beta_3_Release_Documentation#Server_Variables_and_Commands) are straightforward, unlike CSS. If your using an home server I'd recommend setting maxrate around 8/9000.
