I realize I have no idea about the data collection that would be able to give sufficient data, but I wonder if creating death maps would be a huge issue?
Something along the lines of those at the bottom of this page:
http://www.steampowered.com/status/tf2/tf2_stats.php (http://www.steampowered.com/status/tf2/tf2_stats.php)
(Apologies if this has been brought up before, I searched the forums for "death maps" and nothing came up)

Well they are generated by stats sent back from dedicated servers. Atm we have no way of doing this as we dont use steamworks. However there are some admin plugins that can do this for source.

Very cool, just throwing the idea out there, thanks for getting back to me so quickly! If I knew anything about writing code, I would be all over this. :P

hlstatsx premium has heatmap as well.

Seems you can plan your way on every map avoiding the dangerous zones as much as possible, optimizing your kd ratio -please don't show this to VC, when it's done - he's dangerous enough without it :D
-
If you avoid the dangerous zones, you are away from your victims now aren't you?
-
They're not necessarily the most dangerous zones - they're just the places where most people die. Big difference.
