First off, I'd like to compliment all the hard work that's been done on the mod, and congratulate the team on a successful beta release.
I've not had a tremendous amount of time to spend with the first beta, and none at all with the recent patch, but there are two things right off the bat that I think could be improved, or at least discussed.
The first is the matter of the body armor. In the original, a clever tactic was to find armor for yourself, and then destroy others you came across to give yourself an edge. After a few minutes and several clips spent on a vest, it remained undamaged. If this has been changed since the first beta, then disregard this point.
The second matter is the music. As excellent as the remixes are, I can't help but think that the option of toggling the original soundtrack would be...just fantastic. I can't even think of words for it. The soundtrack has been ripped several times, and at least once in high quality, directly from the game ROM itself, so the files shouldn't be difficult to come by.
As per the legality of that last suggestion...I can't speak for it, though I would imagine it wouldn't be crossing any boundaries you haven't already and gotten away with.

I'm pretty sure they can't use any original content. It all has to be modified somehow to be sort of different. Even the soundtrack.

Absolutely not going to happen from us (inserting original rom rips)
We already have an implementation that myself and contributor artist rocko partake in. The "classic" variations which use made from scratch samples to sound exactly like the originals and arranged using very old programs/techniques. So far facility is done publically ; It's in the latest OST even though facility_classic the map didnt get ported in time for b3.
Eventually all the "classic" tracks will be done, thats really up to me I think at this point. So feel free to kick my ass..

Well, like I said, didn't get to spend a grand lot of time with it, so I suppose I missed this little tidbit. Excellent, then.
My only other suggestion, then, would be to put Graeme Norgate & Grant Kirkhope in the composer field for the classic remixes as well.
However, I feel my point about the armor still stands.

I don't understand your point about the armor. It was never an "invincibility suit" and still wore down while taking damage in the original game. Once your armor is gone, then your health goes down. Same in our mod.
Wake's Facility track does sound pretty much exactly like the original song. No real need to get Graeme and Grant on the team for them (as if they actually would) to recreate what they've already done. :)

He's talking about armor becoming a damaged pickup by not taking it but shooting it. One of the few deviations from canon gameplay that I favor is eliminating mechanics that didn't bring much to the game but allow for griefing. In 007, with about-three players, damaging the body armor was reasonably tactical. With eight drunken chimps in a server, it's hard enough to get armor at all.
-
Why would you play with seven drunks and not be drunk yourself? Party pooper. :P
Anyway, it could be another toggleable option. For all its minor points, like them or not, they're what made GoldenEye...GoldenEye.
-
If it's not too much work, it'd be nice if it was toggle-able, but I don't think it's a high priority, and I know I'd never use it (if I had a server).

i agree with the damaging of body armor. Yea if 8 guys are running around then you would have a hard time even gettin a vest much less destroying it, but not everyone plays with 8 or more on a map. I see some servers up, (including mine when im playing) that are 4 players max. When only 4 guys are playing it makes perfect since to shoot up a vest. especially since the other people playing can't see your screen unlike it the original. At the very least, it should be something we can toggle on or off.
