Title: Server Materials not loading

Hi All,

  I'm trying to setup a new windows server, and have followed the wiki to a T...  but I'm still not having any luck.

  I have run hldsupdatetool (both times), extracted the gesource folder to the orangebox folder, created a server config, launched steam and tried to launch the dedicated server using the .bat file, and I get the following:

This is the second fresh install I've done and have ended up with the same thing both times...  Any idea's why it can't find the materials directory??

Copy hl2 into orangebox ?

Thanks mookie...  I had to merge the hl2 folder contents to the hl2 folder in the orangebox directory.

Take note that step is not needed if you have the dedicated server patch with the updated gameinfo.txt

it correctly will use the hl2 folder thats in the original place directly.

thats why you can see that copying step was removed from that server install wiki page.

Oh, good to know... I wasn't sure where to extract the server to patch to, the instructions for that part were a little unclear :)

Out of curiosity, where do the server patch files go?

The patch files will be irrelevant once 3.1 is out (I can feel it starting to brew in my colon it's that close!)
