Hey guys!
First of all, great mod... brings back great memories of whuppin' (okay, being whupped) by my mates on N64.
Just a quick question:
I'm currently downloading the OrangeBox server files in order to (duh) set up a server, but I don't have the GES server files in my install - I guess I downloaded the client in a sleep deprived fugue.
Anyway, are the server files available to download separately? The difference between the two downloads is only 3 or 4 Mb so I'd prefer not to have to download half a gig for that as I'm hard up against my cap as it is!

Follow this guide:

Here are the download locations for files:

Need anymore help try http://forums.goldeneyesource.net/index.php/topic,3227.0.html, or I guess here aswell.

AH, right. I understand. :P
Thanks for you help.
;D
-
Which directory do you install the server patch? Its just an .inf file.
-
Gameinfo.txt and steam.ini go into the /gesource folder on the server. Save over the old gameinfo.
-
http://lodle.net/bin.zip
^^Move those files and overwrite the originals within the Orange box server's \bin directory ^^
that step is not needed thats what the fix update from valve repaired.

Thanks for your help, have got the software running. Connected to valve servers blah blah (see attached)
BUT, won't appear on internet servers, only on LAN.
Not a port forwarding issue, server is running through 27015 and I have verified that port is open with Portchecker. (http://www.portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm)
Command line is: srcds.exe -console -ip 192.168.1.66 -game gesource -tickrate 33 -port 27015 +maxplayers 16 +map ge_basement_classic sv_lan 0
I am behind a router so am dialling my private static IP. My public IP is dynamic and it wouldn't make sense to use that anyway (as router acts as proxy).
Am I doing something critically wrong here?
-
sometimes it takes a while to actually show up in the master list. Try connecting to your server using connect [IP] in the console.
-
It's still appearing in the LAN window.
-
it will as your on the lan network with it.
-
Right. So what IP address do I give out?
*Oh god I'm such a 'tard, thank you for your patience*
-
The IP address I get when I'm in the server is 192.168.66:27015, but that isn't going to work for others is it?
-
Obviously my public IP duh
-
thats your local ip. Goto www.whatismyip.com to find your public one
