The server is Linux. Whenever anyone tries to chat ingame to another player no next appears. Their console reads:
Unknown command: say
Chatting does work on other servers but not this one. What should I look at? Everything else seems to work fine.

Our linux build is having issues and we cant work out why. We are still trying to get it to work.

It is likely similar to when a valve update broke some things with linux servers in hl2 Deathmatch. so it even happens on official games.
Like lodle said, we will still have the coders try troubleshoot it.

I know htis is not a fix and you guys do wanto to and will fix it but I strongly recomend when Valve and source engine is concerned to use a windows based server not becasue it not working now but who knows when Valve will release an update that breaks linux servers it has happend many times in the past.

Im in contact with alfred at valve (they guy who does the linux things) and hopefully this might be resolved in time for beta 3.1

i have done a good bit of work on source and OB, even had our hl2dm based mod working under linux if i can help i will.
tried to contact you via steam had no luck. ;P
i'm surprised alfred is helping you hes been very quiet lately, i thought only tony was doing any community help recently.

Whats your steam name? I have alot of randoms add me and i just ignore most of them.

ahhh so that is why I couldn't talk on a server today...just thought my computer was screwing up...and this other guy had 600 ping and was playing...I thought it was funny. :)

Just fixed this. New linux bins will be released in beta 3.1

Did you fix all the dud commands or just say specifically?

it was a g++ linking error (that linked incorrectly) so all should be fixed
