So I just got back from the midnight showing, I liked it a lot. Try to keep spoilers to a minimum in this thread if you feel you have to say something about a particular part use the spoiler tags. I will post more on my opinion later on today, but until then mingle.

This really isn't a traditional bond movie, well I guess Casino wasn't really either... but it's really just alot of story.
I agree they made the movie all about the last movie. The movie was good, but it wasn't really a true bond movie.. And were are the Bond gadgets? only thing that was Bondish was the phone and one MI6 table.
It was pretty good, worth the $7, but if theres anymore, and they stick to this same story, then its the end of bond films I thinkWhich probably wont cause it seemed to wrap up the story at the end.

It's a pretty good movie. But not a bond movie at all.

			-
				Going to see it tonight.

It's a good movie, but they really need to ban shaky cam and each shot averaging 1 second. It felt like  the camera was bouncing around the whole time.

My opinion is exactly the same...I felt like I was about to have a seizure lol...and yes it's a good movie but not a classic bond movie at all...hopefully the next will be a little more traditional.

I enjoyed it and recommend it, however ...
It kind of seemed like they were tying up too many loose ends from casino royale that it can not stand on it's own, not that i will mind watching them as a kind of two part movie. Hopefully now they feel they have layed down enough of a base to make the others a little less intertwined.
If you have not seen quantum of solace yet, you should watch casino royale again before you go.

Loved it.  I agree with the shaky cam thing, my eyes can't track that fast, especially on a big screen.  Fortunately it was mostly confined to the car chase in the beginning, the rest wasn't so bad.
The new bond movies kinda remind me of batman, they are taking it in a bit of a different direction, but they do it so well its hard not to like it.  The rougher bond is a nice change, it brings a touch of realism/believability to it I think.

realism/believability
Two things not even supposed to be touched on by a "bond" scenario. But i agree, its hard not to like it, and the traditional bond films had run their epic course, they didnt have much left, as die another day shown.
Still, i saw a link ryan showed me which said this is the "perfect" bond film, i kinda think it should just be called "a bond film" and that would be credit enough.
Campbell is my favourite bond director, afterall he gave us goldeneye as well as the revamped bond casino royale. so im reserved on this new director and will see the quantum of solace on DVD on my 50 inch. When martin campbell left the older revamping, each following movie got less classy than his. It'll be interesting.

they almost had to do that, because culturally bond was becoming almost a cliche and parody of himself. this direction allows us to humanize him a bit more. Bond can get hurt, stabbed shot and beaten up now.
the new movie was pretty cool, but for some reason directors now think that shaky cam ='s fight scene choreography which is total bullshit. its like dude i want to see a fight scene... fucking show it don't just shake the camera and blair witch/Bourne me.
did anyone notice in the credits what Fields first name was? i thought it was rather fitting for her haha.

Only after the fact, Strawberry Fields. After thinking about it I also was thinking she did have red (strawberry blond) hair.

				I just loved the movie :D .
I don't know why people alway say : "Meh... that's not a true bond movie..."
Why? There was gadget, like the phone, the camera and other things like that. Plus, he made sex whit a girl. So... That's only my opinion, don't yell on me!
Annother fact
What about Mr.White ? He's still alive at the end of the movie....

I like that they didn't kill Mr. White. I like that character. I just want them to give him more screen time and motives. Qauntum = the new SPECTRE?

			-
I saw it last night - very good!
Seemed short though, I clocked it at about an hour and fifteen...  Daniel Craig is so damn slick.  Wish I had the money for what I found out were Tom Ford suits and stuff.
I'm a child of the 90's and thus, will probably always be a Brosnan fan, but Craig doesn't disappoint, in my opinion.

really its 85 mins running time?... what country you from? lol do they cut down and censor movies
imdb : 106 min

Always have to remember that Casino Royale is a reboot of the Bond series. Rather than add to the the 40+ years of the same Bond and all, they've decided to start fresh for the new generation.
That's why its so different than that of the older movies.

yes. quantum is our modern spectre.
However, spectre will probably never be mentioned in the new films due to some copy right issues, which i think are all entwined with the same legalities which spawned "Never Say Never Again", though feel free to crrect me if they are separate issues.

The shaky cam thing was a product of the directors style. If you have done any checks on him, you'll notice he also directed the Jason Bourne films. I am very glad that is wasnt to the same extreme as the bourne trilogy though and that it never was any shakier than the first chase scene. And I do like the changes to the series as well. Very very similar to the changes made to batman. Also, much closer to the novels, in fact i cant imagine the previous movies diverging more from the novels story lines than they did.

i dont see anything wrong with this movie
i enjoyed it it is a bond movie and its the first time they have made a seqel movie so lay off it.
so what that he did not say bond james bond it was about bond still being to head strong the prevous movies dont count anymore this is a reboot they could bring back any one eg. dr no, specter, smash if they wanted to which they probly won't but my point still stands this is a reboot of bond

You used a period to end a sentence only once in that post.  Not trying to be a jerk here, but seriously man, use punctuation.
