Title: Alpha version--not under Games in Steam?
Post by: Greenpoe on October 13, 2007, 02:04:27 am
I downloaded the Alpha 1.1 version of Goldeneye Source under Source mods, and installed the patch, however, it won't appear when I bring up Steam (Yes, I did completely close Steam).  I don't know what went wrong.  The only problem might be that I don't have Half-Life 2, but I do have the Source engine from CounterStrike Source.  The Beta ran fine though.

If I am correct, the alpha was based on the hl2 death match code for before the sdk base came out, so most likely you would need it installed for the alpha to work.

somebody double check me on this

Now I've downloaded HalfLife Deathmatch (thanks to Steam giving it away free to Radeon graphics card users) but the GE Source Alpha still doesn't appear...but the alpha is the latest version (with the patch), isn't it?

Beta 1.0 is the latest, no patch for it yet.

Beta 1.0 is the lolest, I don't know why people didn't keep playing Alpah.  Well, I do... it was down to ten people a week... but you get what I mean.
