Title: 3d Artist
Post by: mrSparkle on February 14, 2009, 08:20:46 am
After playing your new beta and saw that you have positions available I thought why shouldn't I apply my skills to help make this great mod even better.

I am 21 and currently a student. I am studying 3d animation and have experience using the Torque Game Engine. See www.projectuni.com (hasn't been worked on in awhile). Ive tried the source engine at least once but never got a project going, but am interested in learning.

I can model, uvmap, texture, rig, and animate.

I am knowledgeable in Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush, After Effects, Bodypaint, and Realflow.

Here is some pieces of my work so you can see what I can do.

i see you like to make tanks hehe, i have something for you to make.

your portfolio overall is pretty good, but nothing really stands out as like super bad ass. i think the reason for that is your spread pretty thing among so many techniques and programs. it would be a good idea in the future for when you start looking for work, that you focus big time on one particular area of development.. otherwise you'll be a master of nothing with an average portfolio. a quick tip for portfolios also, is to use image tags when on forums so people don't have to click 15 links.

I'm going to bump you to trial, go ahead and make a new thread in the trial members section i have just the thing for you.

quick question for that living room did you model all of the assets for it, or did you get some of them from a prop library? i ask because there's some weird proportions on some of the things for the big shapes in the room, and small details(your baseboard is way to think), but the props look good.

Yeah I agree, I really don't have an area of specialty right now. I enjoy doing everything and all parts of the production pipeline, I like to be able to model a character, place him in a scene, and then bring him to life. But hopefully by the time I graduate I will find a niche.

I modeled everything in the living room. Everything was done in a few days just to test some interior rendering techniques so I don't think I spent too much time using photo references.

Thanks for the trial, cant wait to see what you have in store for me, haha.

Moar staff. Your work looks good. Make sure you make the tank looks like it means business.
