No CD Authentication.

When I try to play it says I don't have a valid CD key? How does this even begin to make sense?

Some more information please.
Is Source SDK base 2007 installed on your steam?
Is everything updated?
Where did you download the mod?
What OS are you using?

Only time i've had CD Key error the fix was to just close Steam and reopen it.

You can try logging out of steam. (Steam -> Change User -> Logout)

Worst case:

Close Steam. Open Steam directory (program files/Steam) and delete the 'config' folder. Then reopen Steam.

These are old fixes for other issues, worth a try. Don't see many cd-key errors.
