Post by: Wake[of]theBunT on February 07, 2009, 03:55:36 am
Hey hey!

!!JOIN US IN STEAM CHAT FOR FUN!! (http://steam://friends/joinchat/103582791429521823)

We said we'd be delivering at 12AM (U.S EST) and we are going to make that deadline in fine form ;) the client download links will become available in 60 mins from now in many locations so you can avoid troubles. Open these in your browser and press refresh at 12AM in your choice.

Wiki (http://wiki.goldeneyesource.net) (find Beta 3 download mirrors)
Moddb profile forums (http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source/forum) (open the announcements thread)
Steam community GROUP (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/goldeneye)

Basstronix and Audix have compiled together ALL their tracks from beta 3, and the back catalogue into a epic zip of win!

Here is the Official BETA 3 OST (http://ryanlobbins.com/mods/goldeneye/downloads/GES_Beta3_OST.zip), and a link to the youtube video on our channel that Basstronix made, its nice check it out!  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzPbRtIcqTI&fmt=22)

important info
Both our music artists have a track each for MOST of our maps, but for beta 3 they divided them up. You may notice an old GE:S favourite of yours has been taken by a new remix. We love the new stuff, but if you want to relive the old favourites its as easy and grabbing the track from the Beta 3 OST (link above) and inserting it into your sourcemods folder in Steamapps! You can basically rename any track to play in any map you want. More advanced documentation will come for this in the wiki within 24 hours.

Lastly we'd like to thank to all the serverhosts and community folk who pre-released and threw up servers for us to do final tests and such, youve been a big help.

Ok its up.
I have made a music script so can play all the tracks of the OST while ingame the only problem is I had to delete the spaces and brackets () in the tracknames becasue source doesn't like them,  So to make it work you would need to do the same :(
I did try the mp3 player but it didnt work at all.

Extract all configs into your cfg folder overwrite the Valve.rc file.
files.resistance-tester.com/gametools/GES/ostrename/tunes.zip (http://files.resistance-tester.com/gametools/GES/ostrename/tunes.zip)

You have 2 options 1 is to use the existing OST music files if you have them already and delete all spaces and brackets () or you can downlaod the one I renamed when creatign this music script.
files.resistance-tester.com/gametools/GES/ostrename/GES_Beta3_OST_renamed.zip (http://files.resistance-tester.com/gametools/GES/ostrename/GES_Beta3_OST_renamed.zip)
Once downloaded extract and paste the GES_Beta3_OST folder into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\gesource\sound\music
Now you are done, simply start up GES if done correct you should hear a sound and the console should automatically popup and show the "playlist"
(http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc324/k33fy/Goldeney%20source/th_snapshot0000-1.jpg) (http://s524.photobucket.com/albums/cc324/k33fy/Goldeney%20source/?action=view&current=snapshot0000-1.jpg)
If the sound annoys you comment it out in the tunes.cfg file like this
//play items/suitchargeok1.wav

After Hour Martini is by far my favorite. It sounds kinda like A Classy Deathmatch but better.
I recommend downloading the OST to listen to it as it's not in the GE:S folders.

Nice job Basstronix and Audix!

Extraordinary work all around. And the style is so very fitting for the game. Basstronix and Audix are incredible!

I just wish you guys would make a "harder", "faster", more "rocking" rendition of the Antenna Cradle theme. Both the current and old versions you have are good, but they seem so airy. They just don't hit as hard as they should. I don't know.

Basstronix's newer "Silo" blows my friggin' mind! Awesome stuff!

Double post!

Seriously... this Silo theme. It begs to put to a stylized frag video. I'm going to start working on it once the patch comes out.

Awesome stuff, guys... just awesome.

Can some one point me to the best frag videos for GE:S Beta 3 so far? I want to see the "competition". All the stuff I found on youtube is either pretty shitty, or just your run of the mill game play video.

I was wondering if I missed a particularly awesome video or something.

I was raging this soundtrack in my car today and got pulled over.  No ticket though, thankfully.

Props to the soundtrack, though.  This is one game that I play without muting the music.

If the cop gave you a ticket for playing that music loud, you were on your right to shoot him hehe.

I changed a few of the tracks in my gesource folder, and I made sure I named them all correctly, but now the levels with changed tracks don't play any music.  Any ideas?

They have to be at a set rate to play back. Check the valve dev wiki.
