As above really,,
I see a few vids on Youtube of this GoldenEye: Source and being a BIG fan of the N64 original, i would LOVE to get involved! So my simple question would be where do i start? Obviously having Half life 2 to would be the first step lol
Yes, call me a noob but getting over excited here just watching videos!
I'm pretty sure i'm not the first to ask so if it's been covered then show me where to go.
Thanks

1. you have to own a purchased source game http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Valve (http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/Valve), but free offers like Alien swarm don't come with the sdk base. Cheapest possibility HL2DM for $5.
2. install the game (steam will be installed with the game if it's not allready installed on your system)
3. install source sdk base 2007 (required to run source mods based on source engine 2007)
4. download and install our mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source/downloads/goldeneye-source-beta-4-full-download-exe (http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source/downloads/goldeneye-source-beta-4-full-download-exe)
5. restart steam
6. have fun.

Okk so i need to buy Half-Life 2: deathmatch? And then obviousl go from there
-
Any of these games will give you the SDK base you need -

But yes HL2DM is the cheapest if you dont fancy playing any of the others.
Look forward to seeing you ingame :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again; If you like FPS, get the Orange Box. It'll improve your life even more.
-
Hold on! Before buying HL2DM, I suggest you read this up. :
This game requires that you own a Source engine game such as Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, or Day of Defeat: Source. Click here for a full list of games that meet this requirement. Please note that Portal: First Slice and the bundled Half-Life 2: Deathmatch do not fulfill this requirement.
I'm not sure if "Bundled HL2DM" means that it won't work on any HL2DM, But I still suggest you buy HL2 Episode 1 as it is just 7,99$.
-
Your link is missing.
I'm also certain that HL2DM contains the SDK base, since everyone's been recommending it for GE:S for years.

I dont like to quote myself but...

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch = cheapest game
The Orange Box = Best value
Also keep in mind the free version of hl2dm wont work.

Ok thanks for the replies but need to get something clear,,
one says buy half-life 2 and another says get deathmatch.
Do i need half-life 2 to use deathmatch? And then someone says Orange Box.. Slight confusion lol
Don't mind buying what ever's needed but don't want to spend money that i didn't need to spend

QTip, pick a game from the link that Kinky sent out (http://store.steampowered.com/search/?category2=16) and you'll be all set. All of these games, when purchased, let you download the source sdk base 2007. You don't even have to install or download them. You just have to purchase at least one.
-
Also you might want to check the system requirements before you buy anything. System requirements for Goldeneye: Source are the same as Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source.
-
Okk i'll get HL2:DM and should be fine sorting it out..
If not then soon be back lool
Nothing to worry about with system requirements ;)
Thanks!
-
cool. then we´ll see us in game, Qtip. look out for nice guy who´s shooting your head off ;D

I dont like to quote myself but...

Should be on soon!
