It might not be well-documented, but first thing you need to do to install it is install Source SDK Base Orange in Steam.

You have to purchase a Source Based game, such as Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: DM, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Etc. And then download the Source SDK (Free). Then you will be able to play our mod.

The reason for this is, our mod is a modification of the Source Engine. We are not a retail release so we don't include the Engine Files in our database, only the modifications to it, and thus you need to have the Engine Base in order to play our mod. Which is what the Source SDK is all about.

So I cannot play unless I purchase a game like Counterstrike Source? Oh Damn I thought this was a standalone game :D with just the source engine.

Nope, sorry :(. You can get Half-Life 2: Deathmatch for really cheap. And thats all you need, and then just the SDK which you download through steam.

Hey guys, really want to play this but having the same issues as the first guy.

I have HL2 and CSS installed on my computer, as well as the Beta 3. After reading this thread I went into Steam and under tools but there isn't a "Source SDK Base Orange" to install. I tried searching for it in Steam as well but no results came up. There was a "Source Dedicated Server" that I installed, but when I run Goldeneye Source is still just brings up a My Computer window.

Any help? Thanks.

Hmm.. Odd.

Make sure it installed into the right folder:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\gesource   (or similar, what ever drive you use, etc)

Restart steam.

For most it auto downloads Source SDK Base- Orange Box if you don't have it installed.

So do you need Source SDK, Source SDK base and Source SDK - Orange box? or just source SDK Orange Box?
