Fusing powerful hardware, software, and services, Xbox 360 fully engages you in a gaming experience that is more expansive, dramatic, and lifelike, where the possibilities are limitless and your imagination knows no boundaries. The next generation is here.

Industrial design: A merger of form and function, Xbox 360 wraps powerful technology in a sophisticated exterior. Two of the most innovative design firms in the world—San Francisco-based Astro Studios and Osaka, Japan-based Hers Experimental Design Laboratory Inc.—came together to craft a sleek, stylish system that conveys the very essence of Xbox 360.

Xbox Gamer Guide: The Xbox Gamer Guide is an entertainment gateway that instantly connects you to your games, friends, music, movies, and downloadable content. Available at a touch of the Xbox Guide Button, the Xbox Gamer Guide gives you instant access to the experiences and content you want, from the gamer card of the player that just invited you to play online to new downloadable content for the game currently running.

Personalized interface: Xbox 360 lets you create your own unique system and experience. With interchangeable Xbox 360 Faces, it's easy and fun to change the appearance of your console. Switch on your system and customize the look and feel of the Xbox Gamer Guide and Xbox System Guide with unique "skins." From sleek and sophisticated to fun and funky, pick the Faces and skins that show your personality.

Ring of Light and Xbox Guide Button: Divided into four quadrants, the glowing Ring of Light and Xbox Guide Button visually connect you to your games, digital media, and the world of Xbox Live, the first global, unified online console games service. Featured on both the wireless and wired controllers, the Xbox Guide Button puts you in control of your experience. In addition to bringing up the Xbox Gamer Guide and the Xbox System Guide, the Xbox Guide Button lets you turn the system on and off without ever leaving the couch.

Xbox Live: Xbox Live is where games and entertainment come alive, the only unified place where you can play with anyone, anytime, anywhere. And the best just got better. Connect your Xbox 360 to your broadband connection and get instant access to Xbox Live Silver. Express your digital identity through your Gamertag and gamer card, talk with others using voice chat, and access Xbox Live Marketplace—all right out of the box, at no extra cost. Upgrade to Xbox Live Gold and enter the exciting world of multiplayer online gaming. With intelligent matchmaking, access to all your achievements and statistics, video chat and video messaging, and an enormous selection of games, Xbox Live Gold delivers your competition, on your terms.

Xbox Live Marketplace: Keep your favorite games fresh with instant access to new content. Xbox Live Marketplace is a one-stop shop to download new game trailers, demos, and episodic content, plus new game levels, maps, weapons, vehicles, skins, and more. Accessible to everyone who establishes a broadband connection with their Xbox 360, Xbox Live Marketplace lets you personalize and extend your experience, on demand.

Games: Xbox 360 redefines what games look like, sound like, feel like, and play like to engage you like never before. With Xbox 360, epic worlds are alive with detail, from thunderous skies rumbling over a mountain range to tiny blades of grass rustling together in the breeze. Vibrant characters display depth of emotion to evoke more dramatic responses, immersing you in the experience like never before. You’ll see all Xbox 360 titles at 720p and 1080i resolution in 16:9 widescreen, with anti-aliasing for smooth, movie-like graphics and multi-channel surround sound.

Digital entertainment: Amplify your music, photos, video, and TV. Watch progressive-scan DVD movies right out of the box. Rip music to the Xbox 360 hard drive and share your latest digital pictures with friends. Make the connection, and Xbox 360 instantly streams the digital media stored on your MP3 player, digital camera, Media Center PC, or any Microsoft Windows XP-based PC.

I'm not talking about liking or disliking the console, but the damn thing has been out for a year so it kind've lost it's hype a long time ago.

It's here because the other consoles have their own spot. Leaving out the 360 would be wrong even though the hype is over.

Well, its hype is lost for you. Here in Brazil, the console will be officially released just in December 1st, and the Brazilian package will be the core system, with a HD of 20GB. It'll be VERY expensive: R$2,999.00, something about US$1,199.60.

I'm talking about the Brazilian Package, the official one. In Mercado Livre (the Brazilian eBay), we can buy the hacked Premium Package imported illegally from USA. It's R$1,700.00 (US$ 680).

The minimum wage in Brazil is R$350/month (US$140/month), while in US, it's US$5.15/hour (is that correct?). So, Brazilians are poor and are also explored by big companies like Microsoft, that brings products with an extremely expensive price.

Microsoft is going to win the console war. Sony is too fucking expensive and all the cool kids think nintendo is for babies. I personally wanted Nintendo to win - but I have 360.

How do you win? Do they give out trophies? lol

Anyway, I have a 360 as well. Nintendo wii seems retarded to me, and sony can go fuck themselves with this under produced over hyped shit.

Ok i have a slight problem now...  Whenever i plug my ethernet into the 360, i have to reset my modem before it reckognises a connection and vise versar for my pc.. I mean what's wrong with that?

Also my modem has 2 sockets on the back.. A USB and an ethernet.  Would i be able to use the usb for my pc and the ethernet for my 360?  It's provided by a cable company somebody said it was possible but i don't want to go out and spend 15 pounds on a USB cable for it if it's not going to work.
Title: Re: Official Xbox 360 Discussions
Post by: Sean [Baron] on December 07, 2006, 10:56:28 am
I had the same problem at first too (having to reset my modem everytime), but after a little while I just "fixed" itself, I dunno if its because i have the network settings in the Xbox on 'automatic' or not, but now I can just unplug the Ethernet cable from my PC and hook it up to the 360. (Quick tip: If you have two Ethernet cables laying around, hook one of them up to your 360, and the other to your PC, and when you want to play xbox live, plug the 360 Ethernet cable into the modem, and unplug the PC one. works well for me)

As far as the USB goes, you can. If you have a USB-to-USB cable you can hook up your 360 to PC via USB, and PC to modem via Ethernet, which will allow you to be online on both at once (I believe). Basically working as a router, but with a router you can actually have your PC\360 more then like 2 feet away from eachother (or however long USB cables are lol).

Ok i'm all set up and ready to go.. I bought a router today and a 12 month Gold membership.. I had to figure out how to do all that DNS server setting stuff because my stupid cable company said i'd have to phone this number to get the info and it's like a pound a minute so i thought "screw that!!"

Any way my gamer tag is:

TacticalSiege

I added you, Baron  ;D

I don't think they ever send you "yours" back, it's just good for the company to send out refurbished ones.

Unless they have to keep your harddrive intact too.
Title: Re: Official Xbox 360 Discussions
Post by: mbsurfer on June 22, 2007, 07:40:22 pm
Just keep you hard drive home, and send them the console.  Maybe they'll forget and send you a new hard drive ;)

Title: Re: Official Xbox 360 Discussions
Post by: Sean [Baron] on June 22, 2007, 09:06:57 pm
Yeah, Don't send your hard drive, it's not hard to forget because it's printed in big letters on the instructions not to do so. If you did you wouldn't get it back. As far as if you would get your console back, not likely. So far from the consoles I have sent in I've always gotten a new one, and by that I mean one with a new Serial Number, Manufacture Date, etc. I don't know that it's actually "new" or just refurbished, probably the latter.

It's just easier to send out a new one then to fix the old one, plus it takes longer.

ha. One reason why I haven't bought one yet. I was just about to, but everyone's keeps dying. So until I hear some news that they fixed the problem pretty much, then I will wait a couple weeks then get one.

Well I didn't want to start a new thread so I hope bumping this one won't totally piss everyone off  :D

I finally took the leap and bought an Xbox (the new 250gb model.) It is as quiet as all the reviews make it out to be, the built-in wifi has been fast, and no signs of over heating yet. Basically this was a good buy, and I think the Kinect may flop pretty hard. In case it doesn't flop my system will be ready  ;D

Gamertag is: mbsurf3r

Yes mbsurfer was taken, and I was upset.

http://n4g.com/news/544076/e310-new-xbox-360-destroys-disks-when-moved

I sorta have lost faith in the 360, they don't really fix the problems, just try to mask them. I had this happen with my old 360 when it was bumped at a party and it ruined my Guitar Hero 2 disc. Like what other disc system did that? I can knock my wii off the table while playing a game and not even have it freeze. Hell, I likely can do that with my PS1 or Dreamcast.

And it can still Red Ring, just it will not show the signature lights, but light up the center dot. That's just silly.
