I havn't read into ge source at all really and i was wondering when the game will be made available to the public, and how much does half life 2 cost.

Goldeneye Source has been available since Christmast '05 to be exact  We're still coming out with new versions though, so the game is always evolving with new content.

The cheapest way to play Goldeneye Source would be through purchasing Half-Life 2 Deathmatch for $10, although I fully recommend getting Half-Life 2 for $20, it's an excellent game.
