N00b seeking a pwoper education
« on: August 18, 2007, 10:26:24 pm »

Hey I'm new here,

I'm an avid gamer but I'm afraid I'm a bit hopeless when it comes to computers - I've only had the school sort of ICT education - basically how to use Microsoft programs :P. But I'd really like to be knowledgeable about computers because I'm really into them - I'm just a bit of a n00b though lol. I would like to be able to do programming and such like (proper computer stuff) as a hobby, like you guys, so where do you suggest I begin? I'm talking about tutorials and stuff, not college or anything - journalism's the way for me. I suppose being able to really use computers would also help my future (I hope lol) writing career too, so... cheers xx

Download a free IDE for C++ such as DevCPP or Code Blocks.  Start with simple console stuff, and work up.

Bein a selfdictate is not easy, learning alone is hard. You can start by entering or reading forum like, well dont know any programing forum but hardware ones are interesting. Tomshardware is one that i like most. But if you wanna learn more, do a programing curse, they teach you the basic of all.
