Their forums seem to be going off and on however, so here's what it says:

Community Update

We're freaking out over here! It is so exciting to share this news with you!

-You can now Download the Black Mesa Soundtrack, courtesy of our very own Joel Nielsen, at the very generous price of whatever you want! Enjoy and share!
-In the near future you'll see our Website, Wiki and Forums all taken down temporarily for renovations.
- On September 14th you will see the first release of Black Mesa! This will include our re-envisioning of Half-Life all the way up to Lambda Core. We believe this is a great way to provide a complete-feeling 8-10 hour experience with a solid ending, make our fans happy and help us make the best overall game possible.

We are still working hard on Xen and BMDM, but instead of making you wait we are giving you Black Mesa as soon as it's ready! We're doing our best to help bring the immense vision of this project into reality, and we are very excited for what the future brings!

High-Fives Yo,
Carlos Montero - Project Leader

Rejoice, friends!

I can't wait, this is the next best thing to Half-Life 3. AND I've been purposefully holding off on playing Half-Life for this.

Saw this a while ago; my only response was a "...huh" in disbelief, followed by a "that happened suddenly".

"that happened suddenly".

It did happen kind of spur of the moment, however people who noticed (including myself) that they were releasing new interviews with major websites, new media pictures, and increasing activity through various sources smelled something like this coming...

I'll have to wait till monday when i'm at home again.
It's far to big for my 5GB traffic limit on my mobile i-net.
But good to know it really happened.

DHT is not allowed, nor the peer exchange.

Most of the trackers are offline or invalid as well.

Man and I thought our mod was huge, lol.

Ok time to install and play!

(btw I am really freaked out everytime I download a multi gigabyte file in less than 30 minutes... I remember when you had to go and play some basketball or something while downloading a 100MB patch.... man I am getting old)

I was going to get it when it came out at first, but I think I might just wait now until they make Xen and get it when it's fully finished

Hey guys & girls, how the hell do I get up to this vent, I have been running around for nearly an hour, I don't seem to be able to jump any higher than a centimeter so there's absolutely no way I can jump on that crate. I have tried laying stuff in front of it as well, but I can't even jump onto the stuff i'm laying down.

Have you tried strafing mid air? I remember back in CS:S it could give you about a 4-unit boost in height, Maybe it works for this game too.

Can't jump high enough. Don't recall having any issues on original Half Life, but then I don't even remember this bit.

Omg this game is long... I'm just glad I'm finally outside in the open, than in the vents of the facility. (P.S I've never played Half Life 1, because i never understood it with the graphics. Now with BMS i understand everything! :D)

IMO You should have at least completed HL1 once before trying out BM:S, But too late :P

I couldn't, something about it made me bored and just to turn it down. I have no idea how BMS is keeping me focused.

I am at the part where the soldiers make an appearance... I am not impressed at all.

The soldiers sound terrible (the voice overs) and the MP5 type weapon is horribly inaccurate and not nearly as deadly as the soldiers themselves (I am playing on Hard). Furthermore they like to be able to attack you from so far away with pinpoint accuracy that it is impossible to return fire. The same with the turrets, why bother giving the turrets a laser sight and rotation feature when they can identify your presence even when they aren't looking at you... that is stupid.

The inconsistent application of the "iron sights" view is pitiful.

I mean it looks great, but it plays terribly. They need more balance in the game....

The AI prefers to run from hiding place to hiding place and take pot shots at you from various angles instead of engaging you. This may be "smart" way to vanquish your enemies, but it is not fun.
