every time I try to join a game i get an error stating disconnected: Invalid STEAM UserID ticket.
what can I do to remedy this?
-
In steam, top left: Steam>Change User>Login>retry.
-
That solved the issue, thank you very much, awesome game
-
hey just wondering whenever i try to connect to a server it starts to load and will even download the map but right before it connects i get this message "Disconnect: Invalid STEAM UserID Ticket." just wondering how to fix it thanks
-

-
I tried that, and it still won't let me connect to any of the servers.
-
For my friends still not work :( When he join a server he have the same error.
-
A lot of people are facing this problem after the Steam Update. Doing the typical deleting of the ClientRegistry.blob and restarting Steam is not fixing the problem. They are still unable to connect to any GE:S server.
-
Having this issue as well, tried the tip above and read through steams page about it. But still no dice.
-
Valve musta screwed something up in an update they released. Just give it a couple days, it should fix itself.
NOTE: This stuff has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with GoldenEye: Source. We don't control your ability to play online through steam. Any other (orange box based) mod will result in the same issue UNLESS it is one that is downloaded through Steam.
-
As much as some people say you shouldn't need to, sometimes deleting the client.blob file solves your problems too. Just make sure you close steam, delete the file, then re-log back in and see if that works
-
Typically that does work. In this case, it does not though.
-
I get this sometimes for CSS and other games. I usually delete ClientRegistry.blob, restart Steam, and sign back in. This fixes the error for those games, but I've never had it happen for GES.
-
The {{TG}} server had three cases of this in a half hour.
~Edit: Also this (http://forums.geshl2.com/index.php/topic,5718.msg69002.html#msg69002).

I am affected by this all the time...

I've been getting it a lot recently when testing in 4.2, client.blob fixed it half the time it seems.
I'll cut Valve some slack with the recent hacking issue they dealt with.

Just for the people that are too lazy ::)
THIS WORKS !
All i did was delete everything in my steam folder except:
-Steam.exe
-Steamapps FOLDER
-Friends FOLDER
After this just run steam.exe and it will start downloading.
This will however trigger the steam account security thing, this means that steam will send u an email with a code to your steam-registered email account which u will have to retrieve and enter in steam before u can log back in..

To those of you that have used that solution - did you lose all your Steam settings (NOT game settings)? I'm very reluctant to try this solution because I don't want to lose all my settings and other things I have set up with Steam right now, but it looks like this is my only choice if I want to play GES again before the next Steam update, and who knows how long that will be.

What part of the settings are you reluctant to lose? Shortcuts I'm assuming? Trying making a back up of your Steam\Config folder and delete the rest. Then copy/paste your config folder back into your Steam folder.
If didn't fix the problem, make backups of certain parts of the config folder only (i.e. Shortcuts.vdf, SteamAppData.vdf, etc.) and reupdate Steam.
-
I just did it an hour ago and I didn't lose anything. It should be ok :)
-
Ok guys this is for all the clueless people....steam fucked everything up in the latest update...it has nothing to do with you are any files.
-
Steam messed something up, but if you do what I said to do above, you can play GE:S again.
