Title: Toothache from hell
Post by: Mike [fourtecks] on March 01, 2009, 03:55:52 am
Past few days I've had a tooth that was being really sensitive. Today, that tooth has made it's offensive attack and now I am experiencing some of the worst feelings I have ever felt. I've been able to somewhat fight it off with orajel and Ibuprofen, but the tooth still comes out victorious for the time being.

Sadly the dentists were all closed by the time that attack came, and tomorrow is Sunday which is balls. The tooth picked the absolute worst time to fight. My guess is that a root canal will likely be in order, which was done for the same tooth on the opposite side a couple years back. Luckily, dentists are getting better and there's not muching feeling during the procedure, but it still sucks, especially when you currently don't have dental insurance. Looks like my wallet will have a big dent at the end of this war.

The tooth from a couple years ago simple killed over and died without fighting me. This new tooth has become my hell.

You poor guy... teeth are evil. But not as evil as dentists... enjoy your gum injections xD

Sorry to hear about your pain :P

I find the Ibuprofen to be working better than the orajel, just too bad it likes to instantly wear off on me without giving me warning, then it takes about 30min for the drugs to kick in. That 30min intermission sucks.

I had a tooth ache about 2 months ago from a cavity on one of my bottom molars. It really hurt, my tooth has since died and I'll be getting a root canal and filling soon.

Yeah, toothaches definitely hurt. Whatever you do, don't do the "Cast Away" style solution.

I had this terrible cavity about a month ago, but it appears to have faded away.

Try brushing with Sensodyne. I do whenever I start getting a pain in my teeth.

When I was 9, I was racing against my friend at my school. But then, a retarded kid went directly in my path. I was running, so I couldn't stop. I hit him and my teeth hit the ground.

4 of my teeth broke. It was pain in the ass to breath, because it was hurting A LOT!!!

Heh. The other tooth I was talking about felt slightly funky for a couple weeks, but it didn't hurt at all. Quite awhile later is when suddenly part of the tooth just broke off, while I was eating something really soft for some reason... That's when I went to the denist and got the root canal and got it filled up. Now it looks like a healthy tooth again!

That's what happened to me as well. Thats because the tooth died, and started to decay and weaken. Which eventually a piece broke off. Not sure if you had this too, but when that happened to me I started to have really bad breath because of the tooth decay. Glad it's been fixed now.

Whisky on cotton bud then apply to the tooth. Just make sure it's a real whisky and not JD or southen comfort. Worked great for me a few years back, failing that just drink it  ;D

fuck putting it on the cotton ball man just swing the bottle and enjoy yourself.

if tha doesnt work you can call me over i can hit you with a bat as hard as i can and hopefully knock a couple tooth out along with the offending bastard. it might be a high amount of collateral damage in the process but gotta bust some eggs to make omlettes.

- no cavities
- no fillings
- no root canal
- no teeth dying
- no crazy toothaches
- its not like i brush EVERY day

my teeth were always healthy, the dentist always said the health of my teeth was amazing, i havent been to a dentist as an adult since 21, and all things point to them still being fine. (no aches pains really)

I must ask now, since it's been a while since you told us you had a toothache. Is it over yet?

I'm pretty close to that. I had one cavity years ago, and the only major work was wisdom extraction.  The few times I've been to a dentist, I've gotten that same "zomg ur tooths pwn" sort of line.

Oddly yes, I no longer feel anything today basically. Saturday was hell day, Sunday was a lot better, and by Moday there is nothing. I went in for a quick check at the dentist yesterday before going to work and it might just be some cavity issues, and I might not need a root canal. The roots of the tooth looked fine in the x-ray. However, he was concerned about the level of pain I was feeling on Saturday.

I get to go back tomorrow morning and he's going to treat it as if it was just cavity issues, but will switch to root canal if needed once he gets in there for a better look. Hopefully there's no root canal needed, which will save me a lot of money.

Good to know you are ok now and ready to get back to work on full force, not only on GE:S but also on your regular paid job.

I'm still slightly numb, but I am back. I got lucky and only cavity work was done, no root canal. Numbness just has a little more to go away and I can finally get something to eat. I'm starving!

Eat icecream! That's what my dentist tells me to do when you come out of a surgery where your teeth get a little numb.

That's nothing, 30mg Roxicodones are where it's at. None of that apap bullshit, just pure codeine. I've got a bottle Percocets (10/375) for mild pain.
