When that happened to me, I just tried it again and it worked.
-
try what again?
btw I followed this tutorial when creating the server
http://wiki.goldeneyesource.net/index.php/Beta3_Server_Install
Do I follow this one?
http://wiki.goldeneyesource.net/index.php/Installing_Server
theres two different games... the one I installed the server on was -game tf
the other server tutorial says you need to download -game hl2mp
So which one do I need? thank you
thanks
-
the first one is the one you should be using
-
Hey Mark thanks. Yes, I used that tutorial. When I executed the server Srcds I went into Steam then i clicked on lan I then clicked on my server and thats when the issued occurred. Also when I went and clicked the internet tab, same problem/error
I went and opened the GES client, found my server and it logged me in... So it works.. I don't know why it didnt work in the steam client for some reason. Also I see more Ges servers in the GES client than in the steam client.. I guess the ges game is different from other steam games or idk.
Thanks all.

This is an issue in general, when you try to connect to a server via the steam server tab or join a friend.
It also displays the source SDK base instead of Goldeneye Source (Beta 3) when ingame on a server.
-
Yeah, this happened to me trying to join a friend.
Any chance of "SDK Base" showing up as "BETA 3" in the future? That's really not a concern at all. Just curious if that's fixable.

Valve borked up all of this with their last update (two days ago).... as usual
