Title: Dangerous Addition....
Post by: killermonkey on August 18, 2012, 12:49:55 am
...to my programming library!

I just purchased this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1449316549/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

For those who didn't click the link (do it!), it's Programming Computer Vision with Python

I have been meaning to start a robotics project, and more importantly, an AI project that can be used to classify images and learn from them (with human assistance).

My ultimate goal is to be able to show my program an image and it can use its accumulated knowledge to identify hazards in the image for ultimate use in collision avoidance.

Anyone else have any cool ideas?

So is this sort of along the lines of photographic still analysis for autonomous navigation? Or is it more along the lines of you show it a picture of a cheeseburger and it tells you there's a health hazard in the image.
