Title: stack classic error
Post by: diesal11 on March 04, 2009, 09:49:23 am
ok i think im screwed here
i tried to go on a server with stack classic running and it said my bsp differed from the servers i tried another one running stack classic same thing.
so i deleted stack classic bsp from my maps folder hoping it would download when i join a server.
now it says it's missing and doesn't connect
can someone explain how to fix this and why it happened?

Not sure on how it happened, maybe some sort of corruption, but it's happened to me before in source games.

but here is the map:

A friend of mine had this problem as well playing CS 1.6. Tried absolutely evrything and finally ended up reformatting 'cause he just couldn't find the problem.

haha reformatting for a map issue :P He probly needed it anyway, but thats a crazy premise. I know myself, i resorted to reformatting when all hl2.exe apps crashed upon start :P Slightly more handicapping issue.

That's bad. The same happened to me with Luchador's Casino on Beta 1.1.

Did you do something like running the buildcubemaps command in console?
As far as i know, it'll build new cubemaps no matter if they're allready there or not.
Maybe it was the servers fault, try to connect to another server with this map running.

Lol yeh I know but he just got so sick of it he figured that would sovle it. He had tried everything, even fondled with his router and stuff, and eventually lost track of what he had tried or not so he just said "screw it all" and reformatted. Really annoying if you can't find a solution to a simple looking problem.

In any case it proves keeping the installer (not only for LAN-purposes) is a good idea after all.  ;-)
