Ubuntu 18.04.01

hobbes:
Anyone had any luck running GE:S on the new Ubuntu release?
I've tried everything I can think of and I get an invalid pointer segfault.
I've reinstalled everything, checked dependencies via ldd.
Run cmd:
MALLOC_CHECK_=0 /home/steam/srcds_run -game /home/steam/gesource/ +maxplayers 16 +map ge_complex -debug
cmd line outout:
Attempting to load scenario: deathmatch
Loading scenario DeathMatch from disk

hobbes:
According to soupcan via reddit, this is a known issue and a guide has been rewritten to show how to configure a sort of virtual windows environment. Will update after I try it out (too drunk right now).

http://wiki.geshl2.com/goldeneye/server_install_linux (says created in 2013, however references to the new Ubuntu 18.04 indicates it's clearly been updated).
hobbes:
This worked! One thing though, also had to install wine32 in addition to wine-stable.

It works for me too
