GES Update 8/17/07
« on: August 17, 2007, 08:54:56 am »

This week has Valentin Zukovsky in the spotlight, modelled and textured by Spider, who has in the past made almost all of the playermodels you've seen in previous versions of Goldeneye Source - from Ourumov, Bond, Oddjob, Jaws, etc. Another original character, this truly looks like a revamped and upgraded playermodel from the Goldeneye 64 counterpart. He's an ex-KGB agent who has shook off his limp from the movie and is ready to go running and gunning in Goldeneye Source amongst all the secret agents, allies, and villians he can manage. And don't try offering him counterfit guns.

Some more good news on the Goldeneye Source front - the 'invincible' hacker, Boris, has made his way in-game among all the other player models! Rigged by Killermonkey, just make sure to be skeptical if he tells you not to mind him and that he's just looking after the computers.

Coming up next week....?

the checklist would be a mile long the main ones we want to get are the main characters, and maybe all the bonds. other than that, who knows what other characters we will get hopefuly a whole truckload.

Boris looks awesome. Once he's released, I'm going to replace him as the LEET terrorist in CSS

Yeah, Valentin's cheeks aren't jowely enough, and the head is too tall.  At least, given what I remember about Robbie Coltrain's form.

Robbie Coltrane has a far rounder head than that :P

I hate to sound like I'm kissing ass, but Valentin looks just fine. I was able to take one look at him, without reading his name, and I went 'oh, it's valentin.'

it might be because the frame of view seems pretty low in the render, so some of the facial characteristics would look distorted if that were the case. My evidence is the 3/4 view which looks noticeably fisheyed

I think the Valentin model looks clean but needs slight adjustments to resemble the actor better.  The Boris model resembles  the actor fondly but needs cleaned up to the quality of the Valentin model to be ready for prime time.  Keep up the good work and keep the content rolling :D!
