Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
« on: December 08, 2016, 10:27:16 pm »

This is a shot in the dark - but has anyone, to date, made any GoldenEye: Source custom maps based on maps from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault or SpearHead?

I imagine making a map along those lines is a pretty big undertaking, so a map maker would have to be a pretty big fan of both games to put in the time... just wondering if anyone has done so? I haven't seen anything if they have.

MOHAA is my all-time favorite game, but it is mostly dead today... 5.0 is totally awesome; just thought it would be cool to play a couple of old-school MOHAA maps with GoldenEye weapons and physics, if they existed...

No MOHAA recreations have ever been made.
I thought of making Southern France or Stalingrad at some point, drew a few ideas, but never got around to actually start mapping it because I didn't know whether it was going to transition well with Goldeneye or not.
I may check it out again in the future.

I have a big nostalgia boner for that game. A long time ago before I got on the team I started making a GE:S styled map based on the V2 map but never got around to finishing it.

Awesome to hear at least I'm not the only one who thought of it - especially a map like Stalingrad or V2 (or Crossroads). Who knows how it would transfer in terms of play style, but it would be awesome just to try it out some  day.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

Mangley I saw some old screenshots of "Ge_Rocket" that look like they were based on or inspired by V2 - is that the one you were working on?

Yep that's the one, sadly I lost the map file a long time ago in a harddrive death but I do have a .bsp somewhere. It's not playable but you can fly around in it in noclip.

Here are also some surviving screenshots from an older version:

Really cool - thanks!

I definitely recognize the Truck Room from V2!
