issue - Gear VR launch problems
(1/1)
TurboMonkey:
Got this running no sweat on PC - nostalgia overload ;D Now trying to take nostalgia into the future with a little VR!
When I try to use my Gear VR to stream the game (via Stream Theatre) it refuses to launch, says the gameinfo.txt file doesn't exist at C:/Program
I tried copying the file to that new location and tried the -tenfoot launch setting to force big picture when it runs. It gets as far as Valve logo but still won't run the main game.
Have no issues running all my other Steam games this way - but this is the first Source modded game I've tried launching. Does anyone have any ideas I can try?

Put quotes around the file path: "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/....../gesource"

Thanks for the reply killermonkey, sorry if I'm a bit green here but where would I do that?
In Gear VR I can see my Steam library and GES is in the list, but when I select it I get the launch error, so where should I be putting in the quotes?

I am not sure, i have never used Gear VR. But the error is a classic one, the path is getting cut off because there are spaces in it. Putting quotes around the path usually solves this problem.

You should move your steam folder to c:\steam instead of c:\program files(x86), ive seen a few people post about this issue on reddit before with other games.
steam is self containing, you can move it anywhere without any repercussions, just cut it from program files and paste it on c:\ and you might have to edit any desktop shortcut you have for steam.
