A recreation from Unreal Tournament 1999



Greetings everyone! I am happy to say that Codex is officially released!
It's been quite delayed and should've been released weeks ago, but I'm pretty confident I've fixed every bug that has been found in the map after a hundred revisions.
If however you do come across a bug, please notify me immediately.

As some of you know, I've been working on this recreation of the Unreal Tournament 99 deathmatch level lately.
For those who are unfamiliar with the level (or the game itself), this map is mostly used in 1v1 matches in UT, but in GE:S, it works quite well as a small-scale Deathmatch map.
Technically, up to 16 players is supported, but it is optimally played with 8 players.
Some layout changes has occurred since you've last seen my public updates, but for the most part, the map looks pretty much the same.
The layout changes have been made to balance gameplay for GE:S and weapon placement has been tweaked accordingly compared to what UT had to offer.
This map also features 4 original tracks from Unreal Tournament 99 and no fall damage, so don't be afraid to fall off great heights.

When I first started making this map, I thought to myself that this would be trial and error. Either it would play well, or not at all, and it seemed to have turned out for the better.
The amount of positive criticism I've received was overwhelmingly higher than I thought it would get, and I am really glad for that!
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped me with testing and supported me throughout the making of this level.

PLEASE NOTE : Whilst bots will spawn on the map, some will get stuck since they are not able to use elevators. The nodes are really screwed up and I have not tried fixing them for the sole purpose that this map is made to be played with humans. I wouldn't mark it as "supported with bots".

Compatible with version 5.0.
