Hey everyone!

Here's an update to my Control remix, it's now up to 6+ minutes and has a few different BPMs to keep things interesting.

It's starting to feel just about right now, I'm trying not to add too many sounds to keep it from getting overwhelming level wise.

Personally I really like the DNB climax ;)

Gotta say, I'm /really/ not a fan of those detuned stabs in your Control remix. Overall the instruments feel way too 90s-MIDI to me, largely because it seems like you keep them completely dry (i.e. no effects).

That kind of sound works well for the percussion though IMO.

Hey thanks for the feedback,

I'll see what I can do to widen up the overall sound, I have to admit I've produced it from a hip hop approach similar to 90s big beat / the original N64 game rather than trying to make it sound like an orchestra, just about everything currently has either some slight reverb and/or delays including the drums, percussion and brass/strings.

Given that 99% of what I normally produce is electronic/dance music this is very useful feedback so thanks for taking the time to break it down for me :)

I shall report back when I've made some improvements, cheers!

Back with an update:

Ditched a few of the initial sounds, it's lost it's 90s feel to a degree and is now predominately strings and brass etc, sounds much more like a traditional Bond score in comparison and I've cut it down (quite roughly) to under 4 minutes, the 145BPM section still needs a bit of work and mastering etc.

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! :)

Here is the somewhat final version of the track, I've made a few more changes and adjustments to get it flowing and sounding just about right now.

As for reworking Facility's theme, consider it done :) I will get started on that once I have Control in the bag (to be honest, I almost chose Facility for my trial + it's my favorite tune from the N64 game!)

I dont like this at all. Sounds way to midi. You really need to work on making it sound real, that is your biggest issue. Do you use stock libraries or sample libraries? People need to stop being so nice around here. I am telling you this for your own good. You also need to work on panning your instruments correctly, everything sounds muffled and on top of each other. This track has potential but as of right now it really sounds generic and bland, there is no build up. Keep working on it, you will get there.

Haha thanks!

To be honest though, I have done a bit more panning work on the Control mix (I tend to do that with my drums and percussion but not the instruments so much unless it's from the effects, dirty habit perhaps).

Coming from being a purely EDM producer this has been a really good experience for me having the opportunity to write something with a bit more of a "purpose" and benchmark such as being BGM for in game.

I've also started the Facility remix, it's in fairly early stages at the moment but you can tell that it is what it is which is always a bonus... :)

Finishing working on the control theme before you start facility. I am not at all impressed with your work, you simply slapping crap together and calling it music. Sorry if that is to blunt, but I  really don't think goldenye source deserves this kind of half assed content. I told you what you need to do. Make it happen or your music will never sound good.

Oh it is so very tempting to retort just for the amusement after checking out your soundcloud previews.

Perhaps if you spent the same amount of time leveling your own instruments as you do trying to grind people's gears on the internet for whatever reason the guitar sound in your Bond preview wouldn't be 75% softer than what seems to be everything else that's redlighting.

Now go ahead and tell me you don't appreciate my tone and are going to have me banned from the forums and what not, you were right, I have been far too nice on this forum and needed to tell you how it is, I am familiar enough with the internet to know exactly what you are from your very first reply on this post.
