Question about GE:S

So I'm a first time player of GE:S, and just installed the game today.  I was wondering - are there normally this many 'dead' servers?  I only see one server with players and it only has seven people on.  Did I join in during a period of inactivity, or am I missing something?

You've come at a time when things have dried up. GE:S, while one of the few active source mods, usually doesn't have more than one or two populated servers at a time.

Ahhh..  Shame.  We'll, i'll keep my eyes open and try to find people to play with, then.  Thanks for letting me know!

Events used to run every once in a while. Troy or Bashe should get around making those again. Servers haven't been to a peak for some time, unfortunately. Best way to get a decent match is to make friends with clans and people in the community and you play with them. Hopefully someday, the activity will rise again like in Beta 3/4 days.
