GPU Failure?

Last night my computer turned off while gaming without any warning and failed to turn back on. I went to bed where I should have been in the first place and began troubleshooting my PC first thing in the morning. I eventually found out the PC will only POST with the video card removed, otherwise NOTHING turns on besides the CPU fan which spins once or twice before stopping. Is it safe to say the card is shot? I can get an RMA from EVGA but I don't want to send them a working card because of a dead PCI-E slot or PSU issue. The PC runs fine without the card.

There could possibly be a short somewhere in the video card. I doubt your PCI-E slot is affected. Do you have another card you could test? Ask your friend if he could lend you his card for a few minutes and try to see if it POSTs.
Can you provide your GPU model and motherboard model? Thanks.

That might me a GPU failure. If you can't get it to work and you're out of options, Cook it in the oven! You won't have anything to lose then...

I cook my GPU in the oven. It's old and i will upgrade in summer, and the VRAM of it is almost broken.
It crashes like every 3 weeks - 2 months and then it shows blue lines and resolution is messed up, i stick it into oven and then it works. So basically it lives half-dead on Life support. LOL
