v4.2 Delay - reason and explanation
killermonkey:
Ok, so I know we have been pretty tight lipped about the delay, but there are very legitimate issues that are occurring that would severely impact the mods performance.
Last week it was determined that Valve has a serious bug in the engine relating to the way bots are reported to the server browser and to connecting clients.
When bots are added to the server they are actually created as "fake players" with the engine. Similarly, you can see them as players in the server browser and kick them like players.
However, the bug occurs when you try to remove the bot. It never gets removed. This means players cannot join the server after a couple of maps with bots, ever, until the server is restarted.
Fixing this bug, or more accurately developing a work around, will take me a good amount of time. Therefore we will be delaying until this is resolved.
Sorry :-(

That's just fine, You've guys been doing such a great job it would be blasphemy to blame you for delaying a release just to make it stable. Keep up the good work!
If only I could pay you guys a drink for all this...
liamcadhain:
That's a pity, but at least we've some explanation as to the ongoing delay. Keep up the good work team, I'm sure it'll be worth it all in the end!
