Rock Band General
« on: April 06, 2012, 10:25:11 pm »

With the recent announcement of Rock Band Blitz ( ), I have gone around looking to buy Rock Band and all the subsequent packs for it for my PS3. I was able to snag Rock Band 1, 2, 3, Lego, Beatles, and Green Day at the local EB Games (Gamestop for you Americans). I'm still looking for the AC-DC track pack(Mainly the export code for it, Hint Hint to anyone who wants to help a guy out) and the equipment like guitars and drums.

I'm surprised at how fast Rock Band disappeared. No stores have any of the stuff for it, and I can only find the games in the discount bins. I hope that with this new game (That is backwards compatible with Rock Bands 3000+ dlc and export songs), it makes Rock Band a household game again. I miss it and I welcome its return.

You know what struck me just now? It would be perfectly feasible to make a game like this that uses a REAL guitar as a controller with an adapter for a guitar jack. With real sheet music on screen. Now that would be something.

Just not outside North America and not for the PC.
At least the wikipedia site says it'll be out on May 31 and European release should be September 14 (it's been out in North America since October of last year!! oO), so I hope to pick up a PC version on September 14 - but I fear they might delay it for sales reasons, because if the consoles are served first there are some people who tend to buy stuff again for their PC when it's finally coming out. And of course they're going to milk their cash cow with DLC. : /
Which could, of course, be good or bad, depending on how they choose to do it - it'd be great if they decided to do it like the Singstore for Singstar.

Since it's from Ubisoft, does anyone know of any DRM?

Just thought about it... did you notice if you pronounce it slightly Japanese, that it'd be Locksmith? :o
Quote from: Wikipedia
Locksmithing began as the science and art of making and defeating locks.
First DRM, now what, Ubisoft? ~

P.S.: Don't take it seriously. ^^
