When I try to launch GE:S I get the loading screen, then the screen with the "company" and game info, but at this point my computer makes the error *bonk* noise and nothing happens, no error or anything. To shut it down I have to blindly use TaskManager to end the app (it doesn't show up in front of GE:S). Am I doing something wrong or will it just not run on my computer? I am running on a NetBook with a 1.6 ghz or something single thread processor, and 1.5 gb of mem and Win Xp.

Yeah sounds like your computer.

Have you ever tried any other Source games? HL2, TF2, etc...

Not on my netbook. GE:S runs fine on my desktop though.

What's the graphics card on your netbook?

Mangley:
You gotta be more specific, what are your system specs on your netbook? Sounds to me that your graphics card isn't powerful enough.
