What are your system specs? Most importantly what graphics card are you using.

Is this a routine thing? Or one map? I figure it would happen to you on Runway (soon to change)

i think its happened on different maps the last one i think was casino
cant be the ram i have surely not ges doesnt take that much?  is ram the problem here?
i dont think it has happened on runway tho am not sure
most maps run perfect good fps only a few get low fps n gets unplayable

Try disabling dynamic lighting effects on explosions. In the game menu go to Options > Multiplayer > Advanced and it should be one of the options.

You may also want to double check that your graphics drivers are up to date.

thx mangley ive disabled dynamic lighting effects on explosions didnt even know there were any option like this
sounds like this is what has been causing the problems always when explosions happen on silo it just gets slugish n very low fps
also in my video settings AA was at 4 put to none as recommend settings is what everything else is on
also muti core option isnt avaiable why is this when i have a dual cpu?

anyway thx alot for the help ill report bk if there is a crash hopefully not
n if my fps has improved on caverns n silo when i get to try them out

Multi-Core Rendering was never implemented in the game Source SDK Base 2007 by Valve. Hell, I wonder if it ever worked for any Source game, That's why you can't turn it on.

KM-Edit: Fixed some facts :-)

OP-Edit : Thanks KM ;)
