Needs moar Arctic Commander.

I, for one, am happy for this new uniform I am getting. Finally I get my beloved hat back, and the clean, pristine visage I deserve!

I'm very excited about this update: I love the new Ourumov and the new maps are just awesome.

I really like your game and I'm surprised for the excellent job you've done so far.

Keep working on this way!  ;D

P.S.
I know I've already said it, but... GoldenEye: Source is much better then all the Activision Bond games.

Why call them bots and not Sims/Simulants (ala PD)?

This has been discussed before several times, The answer is no due to legal issues.
You do realise that if one of these actors sues the GE:S Team for replicating their character in a video game, Not only the GE:S project would die instantly, But the author of the model would be in BIG trouble.

I understand this, but still don't understand why Bond is some weird generic faced dude and not based on Fleming's sketch of the character.

I don't feel like we'd get in trouble for basing it off a Bond illustration. That's pretty much the only illustration of Bond given in the books, and doesn't even appear in some versions (I own every Fleming Bond book in paperback and they aren't in there). Plus the book content/distribution isn't based around the greedy movie companies/game publishers like the much more popular films are.

However, I don't feel like the Fleming Bond matches the Bond look we're going for. The illustration is basically Sean Connery with a different mouth, in Goldeneye we're going for a more Pierce Brosnan type look (which is much more "modern" looking than Fleming's early-mid-1900s style).

Though I totally like the idea of calling our bots sims like PD. They're pretty much the same word meaning (bot vs sim), but adds that Rareware nostalgia and uniqueness.

Since PD was released, the word "sims" has taken on an entirely different meaning. Or did you forget the game that changed maxis forever?

Shit, right. Ha, never played the sims so it didn't click with me. People would think we're making an FPS with an optional community simulation for singleplayer...

all this talk about bots and simulants reminds me of a scene from Red Dwarf:

KRYTEN: With respect, sir, they're not androids. They're simulants.

CAT: What's the difference?

KRYTEN: Well, the basic difference is that an android would never rip off
a human's head and spit down his neck.

"In order to build a sense of cohesion we introduced overhead teammate icons"
Is this innovation for the blind, or shall I just run to the store and buy Call of Duty?

Using your eyes is part of the gameplay, damnit!

"Deciphering our radar requires a PhD currently."
No, it just takes too much time.

"Our intention is to allow them to react to the specific gamemode and play it smartly."
I hope this is not allong the lines of duck tactics and more along the lines of making it difficult to beat. Recent AI advancement in commercial games don't get it.

"Ourumov In-Game"
Great! :D

"Mitchell "Engineer" Keesee, has passed away"

Tell me you've never shot at a teammate in Team LTK.

Overhead icons will be optional, but on by default because new players have a lot of trouble with character identification.

These changes are for the 90% of our (potential) players that need help getting into a game that is NOT Call of Duty.
