Hey looky here, I've got a net prob...

Kratos:
Scanning your Hijack log, it looks clean except two things..

One is, Protexis licensing service is running as a process, which can make your comp run shit.

Here read this article

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/07/19/how-to-disable-and-uninstall-protexis-licensing-service-psiservice-exe/

Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd paragraph.

Becareful with registry shit... make a backup first.

Also, I see you have Itunes installed, and that stupid ass Bonjour gets installed. I just uninstall Bonjour since it takes a bit of resources or you can just disable it on startup.

THIS SearchFilterHost.exe.... go in taskmanager and check and see if that process is taking up a shit load of resources

Actually you should take a look at the taskmanager and see what is hogging your system. After booting, leave the pc a bit and wait until everything has booted up. Load up the taskmanager and monitor the cpu and memory levels. If the cpu stays 20% or higher all the time, something like malware is present.

also, I would try is, DISABLE EVERYTHING IN STARTUP. Sorry for the caps lol. Just making it appear more visible.

I want to see after you disable everything in startup entries, if shit runs faster or same shit.

Let us know man.

Damn i love newegg.

namajnaG:
AGP cards are getting expensive.
I've been checking on newegg and a decent one would cost you around 50-60$.

This should do it if you have the budget. Used to run a 2600HD on my old PC and it was doing a great job on Source games.

coolDisguise:
If you have both slots you should definitively go for PCI Express, since it's faster, cheaper and more cards are available.

Knowing the rest of your system would also help, since it doesn't make sense to have a top-notch gaphics card if your CPU is slowing it anyway, so that information is needed to find a good balance between price and estimated performance. Your OS was Windows 7, right?
(-> XP doesn't support higher Direct X than 9, so if it was XP you wouldn't have to bother looking for a card that does 10 or 11)

namajnaG:
His PC has Vista installed if my memory is correct.
Vista supports 10, But I am unsure if it supports 11.
