  Well your in luck. Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a website that does a lot of crap (all of which I don't know) but one thing they do is offer sick deals via MSDN AA. So for $20 a year you get a huge list of Microsoft products, which include:

I signed up yesterday, and am waiting for my confirmation to join the MSDN AA system to receive free products (takes up to 24hours to be excepted).

But I don't know about all the software but for Windows 7 you receive two cd-keys, one is 32-bit, other is for 64-bit.


I was just gonna pirate W7 (*cough* running on RTM now *cough*), but for $20 I'll feel good about my self and pick up this account and receive it for free. So I can just put in my cd-key I receive and boom fully legal version of W7.

You must pay $20 and get the "Student Membership" Account type.

Once you pay, it will have you setup a account name/password

Then once the payment clears, you go into your account and "opt in" for MSDN AA account.

If your payment has cleared(might take from 30minutes-24hours), then you will get a screen that asked if you wanna "Opt-in" for the account. opt-in and wait for a confirmation email with your new login info for the MSDN AA login (will take up to 24 Hours).

Seems a little odd to me to be honest. How can we really know that this is official stuff here? You'll have to let us know how it works out.

There's also a website called www.dreamspark.com that sounds very similar to this, but in Dreamspark's case, it's FREE (If you're a student, of course). It doesn't have the main operating systems like XP and Vista, but it does have Server 2003 & 2008, which I personally like better than XP or Vista because of the substantial speed increase. But Windows 7 for $20 bucks? I just might have to check it out, but I love my Server OS's.

Back in the days when i was a student, i also had access to the MSDN AA and grabbed a few M$ programms like XP Pro or Vista 64bit, absolutly free.

I'm not sure if i still can log in there. I'll try it when i wanna get a copy of Win7.

I get MSDN AA directly through UMICH, but of course I am paying a lot more than $20 for that access, LOL. Fucking tuition...

Haha, I get them all for free! It's because of the MS Academic Alliance. My dept. in my university is a member of that.

I got XP and Vista for Free through something called MSDNAA.
It's a offer of variouse M$ products for free if you're a student.
I think they're doing it because they wanna make you use their products from the start.

ACM is the new MSDNAA pretty much.

  And the $30 offer was old M$ Ultimate steal, kinda over now(well still going, just more $). But some schools will let you purchase Win 7 Pro for around $30, but if not its about like $60-70 through M$ if you have a .edu email address.
