Dosen't show up in games list

Hi, old time player here. I am having quite a hard time getting the game to show up on steam. I've downloaded the exe multiple times from moddb and then just tried a mirror. I'm not sure if I need to place the download in a specific folder besides downloads.

I close steam and restart it everytime but never appears. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It should be in your username/sourcemods folder.

What source games do you own?  e.g TF2 CS:S and so on.

I have pretty much all the Half Life's, I have HLDM installed currently and have Source SDK and Source SDK orangebox as well. My latest attempt I downloaded the exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\

I restart steam in offline where it says it cant connect to internet, then I start it in online mode. I look at my games and doesent appear. I dont remember it being this hard before, but this is a newer comp. ???

Yep. The only thing I can think of is when installing at a point it says "copy failed" but it keeps on installing. I click the desktop shortcut and nothing really happens.

Sounds like the exe is corrupted if it says copy failed. may have to download again.

The mindboggling thing is i've downloaded it atleat 8-10 times. I've tried it mostly from moddb and twice using mirrors.

Pretty sure "copy failed" is referring to your achievement (gamestat.txt) file not being copied, cause you had it selected to copy and the file wasn't there.

I think the problem is that when I click restart in offline mode, steam gives an error message saying "could not connect to network" which probably has something to do with a firewall. I just dont understand why because it's offline anyway. I can go offline with steam from my laptop but it is not good enough to run the game.

I appreciate all the replies.

Dont restart in offline mode.  Its an online game anyway.
