VC:
Glow range is roughly one-room.  If you are looking 'through' the wall that seperates you from a token, it will glow.  If you are more than about 3-4 meters it won't show.  The effect is mostly to get your attention and to help with easily-lost things like the Golden Gun, which tends to slide into non-obvious places when dropped.
