Steam is horrendously slow

I have been running steam -update all day on my linux box and am on 60% completion on the files.  Can anyone upload all the files in a tar.gz or something so I can download them and get my server going?

Hmm interesting, well i dont think we can officially do that. But perhaps someone from the community not linked with GE:S personel can show you the way to that solution.
