I did get the full game.  It said full.exe I sure of it.  Apparently I just need that steam.ini file, but where do I get it?  Or will I have to install all over again from the start?

simply create a new textdocument in your SteamApps/sourceMods/gesource/  folder, name it steam.inf and write
Quote
appID=218
in there. That's all.

Well, I tried that, and it didn't work...  I also tried naming the file steam.ini because that's what killermonkey called it, but that didn't work either...  I don't think I'm suposed to play this game...lol

Ok, wow...  I put that in, and I successfully connected to it.  No other players were on at the moment though.  I tried goin to Internet under find servers again, but still, "There are no internet games that pass your curent filter settings".  However, under history, this server that I connected to was listed.  Does this solve any mysteries?  Anyone have a deffinate answer now?  Maybe someone can try playing on that same server with me, to see if I really connected properly.

Update:  A friend told me that I might not have the serverbrowser file, located in the platform folder.  Lo and behold, I don't even have a platform folder.  So, just on a hopfull whim, I copied the platform folder with the serverbrowser from Half-life 2 deathmatch, and put it into GEsource folder.  Unfortunatly, that didn't work either.

Have you tried using steam to look for servers?

Click on servers at the bottom of the main steam window and change the filters to Game as Goldeneye:Source Beta 3.1

if that still doesnt work view wake's post

I will post more IP adresses, you should favourite all these servers and refresh it daily to get a round with people from all over the globe enjoying GE:S.

Sorry for the issue, it seems odd as these issues have not happened in months to any players. Bad luck it seems, but we are glad we can help you overcome it :)

Good job, Wake.
@l337matt: hope we'll see you playing soon ~

Or even better expressed in the ninja's words:
"We are looking forward to killing you soon!" ;-)

If you head to http://www.ges-stats.com/hlstats.php it shows who are on the three WNx public servers. Your best bet is the Chicago server, it's one of the more popular servers around.

Or use Wake's idea...just visit all those IPs, and use your History tab to check for when they're populated ;)

Thanks very much for all the help.  I went to the servers tab, and changed it to goldeneye and that didn't work either.  But adding all the IP address's should do me just fine.  Thanks again and I'm accually going to try playing in about 15 min.  Again, I apreciate all the help.

If you truly want to be able to see the servers, as a last resort, you could completely reinstall steam and see if you are just missing some strange base file that was not fixed in the reinstall. Just a thought :/

Also, I am not sure if this could be a problem, but see if you have a personal firewall through your antivirus program or through a router that might be blocking your port connections. Try to just disable them all when you try to load up goldeneye and see if you can then see your servers. If so, then there are guides how to forward ports for steam all over google and I am sure we can help you here if you need.
