The Remainding Days (GDC Blog 6)

(1/3) > >>

Mark [lodle]:
I know, i know, i havnt blog in a couple of days but i have been busy. I left San Fran to travel to Detroit where im residing in Killer Monkeys house with Fourtecks who is up from down south.

Thursday at gdc wasnt a very exciting day. I Went to both valve talks and they regurgitated stuff most people new. It was nothing new or innovating. I headed home to bed around 2pm due to the lack of sleep the night before.

Friday was my day to hit the town and be a "tourist". I ended up catching a cable car (which was cool, had like 7 levers to make it go) and headed for pier 39. I had no idea what i was going to do so i randomly walked around for a while. Ended up on a ww2 sub which was nice except the door was around 4 feet high which presented a challenge to get through. For the rest of the day i ended up taking a ferry tour of the bay and went for a ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, in the end did around 28km (16 miles) which felt good except it happened to be the sunniest day all week and i got massively sunburnt.

However the sunburn turned out to be not so bad as i headed to Detroit that night. As it was freezing (like 5 deg c) the sunburn made my arms feel warm. John (km) was waiting to pick me up when i landed at 5am, he was looking very tired and we went back to his house and crashed.

We didnt get up to much that day, bowling, dinner and wii was about it however i had the best night sleep of the trip and woke up to pancakes this morning which was great.

Mike [fourtecks]:
Just got back home. I hate driving fatigue, I'm tired all over again. One of these days I will also remember to take my wallet out BEFORE a long drive, because now my right butt cheek is sore from sitting on it.

Sean [Baron]:
Aww, KM made pancakes for you? :P

Mike [fourtecks]:
hells yea. Lodle was impressed with the real maple syrup.

Kujo:
Sounds like you guys had a great time! Seemed like a great way to take some time off between Beta3 and 4.

I've been meaning to visit San Fransisco again sometime, as I haven't been there in many many years (and it was when I was rather young, and don't remember most of it).
